W.O.W. — Women of Wisdom

Where Jewish women connect, grow, and belong

Women of Wisdom (W.O.W.) is a Charlotte-based Jewish women’s community dedicated to creating meaningful connection, personal growth, and a genuine sense of belonging for women of all backgrounds and stages of life. Our mission is to share the light of Torah and tradition in a way that is modern, authentic, and accessible.

Through curated gatherings and hands-on experiences, W.O.W. offers a warm, pressure-free space to build friendships and explore Jewish wisdom. Our programming blends creativity with community—from holiday celebrations and Book Club to baking workshops and crafting events. We invite every woman to grow at her own pace and find the unity that comes from shared experience.

While we proudly support Israel through past trips and charitable initiatives, our core mission remains local and relational. We are dedicated to nurturing the flame of Jewish life, identity, and sisterhood right here in Charlotte.

W.O.W. is a proud affiliate of the Charlotte Torah Center.

From the Founder

W.O.W. — Women of Wisdom — began with a question and a challenge.

Nearly a decade ago, I was encouraged by a colleague to bring a group of Charlotte women to Israel through a partnership with what is now known as Momentum. At the time, I didn’t yet know what W.O.W. would become — but I did know this: Jewish women were hungry for connection, meaning, and a deeper relationship with their heritage.

That first Israel trip opened something powerful. Women returned not only inspired by Israel, but eager to stay connected to one another. They wanted more conversation, more learning, more shared experiences — and a place where those connections could continue in real, lasting ways.

That desire gave rise to Women of Wisdom.

What began as a women’s trip to Israel evolved into a vibrant, Charlotte-based Jewish women’s community. Over the years, more than 65 women have traveled to Israel through W.O.W., but Israel has always been one part of a much larger vision. From the beginning, W.O.W. was about creating spaces where Jewish women could come together — across backgrounds, affiliations, and levels of observance — and feel that they belong.

W.O.W. is intentionally inclusive. There are no labels to fit into and no expectations to meet. You don’t need to belong to a particular synagogue — or any synagogue at all. W.O.W. is simply a community of Jewish women who want to connect socially, grow meaningfully, and engage with Jewish wisdom in a way that feels accessible and relevant.

Today, W.O.W. offers thoughtfully curated social gatherings, educational programming, holiday experiences, and creative events designed to foster genuine relationships and personal growth. Our board reflects the diversity of the women we serve, and our mission remains clear: to empower, connect, and inspire Jewish women — right here in Charlotte.

W.O.W. is an affiliate of the Charlotte Torah Center, but it is not a congregational sisterhood. It is a community in its own right — shaped by the women who show up, bring friends, share stories, and help it grow.

I am deeply grateful to every woman who has been part of this journey. W.O.W. continues to evolve, but its heart remains the same: creating spaces where Jewish women feel welcomed, connected, and at home.
